Program Description

Event Details

Join other Tolkien fans for a friendly gathering to recite favorite passages from the Professor's writings for Tolkien Reading Day. Please register to reserve a reading slot, and feel free to come dressed as your favorite character from Middle-earth. Members of the local chapter of The Tolkien Society, The Greenwood Smial, will be on hand to discuss the organization and answer questions.

Tolkien Reading Day is held on March 25 each year. In The Lord of the Rings, March 25 is the date of the destruction of the One Ring and downfall of the evil Sauron. Tolkien Reading Day has been organized by The Tolkien Society since 2003 to encourage fans to celebrate and promote the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien by reading aloud favorite passages.
