Event Details
Amy Mackey discusses Southeast Ohio's Raccoon Creek Watershed, a restoration success story and Ohio's newest "Ohio Scenic River." Raccoon Creek is one of Ohio's longest streams, covering 683.5 square miles in six different counties (Athens, Hocking, Vinton, Jackson, Meigs, and Gallia). Amy Mackey is the Raccoon Creek project lead at the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service at Ohio University. The Raccoon Creek Partnership (RCP) is a member based, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that was formed to improve and protect water quality in the Raccoon Creek Watershed, a treasure trove of natural wonders.
This free program is part of our lifelong learning series, Empowered Minds. The focus of this signature service is healthy aging and enrichment for the retirement-age citizens of Licking County. All adults are welcome. Empowered Minds is supported by a sustaining gift from Robert Trimble Jr., a lifelong learner, and, in part, by Licking County Senior Levy. Donations are appreciated.
