Program Description

Event Details

Richard Moseley discusses Ohio's nature preserves and their importance in protecting rare species of plants, animals and rare ecosystems.

Richard Moseley was the first ODNR Chief of the Division of Natural Areas and Preserves and served as head of the program for 20 years. Under his leadership the Division acquired and dedicated 103 nature preserves and the Ohio Natural Areas Program was recognized as one of the outstanding state programs in the country. In 1990, Moseley became Deputy Director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, supervising the Parks and Recreation, Wildlife, Natural Areas and Preserves, Forestry, and Watercraft divisions. He is a member of the Ohio Conservation Hall of Fame, one of the founders of the Ohio Natural Areas & Preserves Association.

This free program is part of our lifelong learning series, Empowered Minds. The focus of this signature service is healthy aging and enrichment for the retirement-age citizens of Licking County. All adults are welcome. Empowered Minds is supported by a sustaining gift from Robert Trimble Jr., a lifelong learner, and, in part, by Licking County Senior Levy. Donations are appreciated.
