Program Description

Event Details

Dr. Brian Clark discusses tips for maintaining muscle mass as you age, one of the key components to staying fit. Maintaining muscle mass is about more than extending mobility. It also impacts the chances of experiencing age-related disease associated with metabolism. This class includes example exercises that support increased mobility.

A professor of physiology, Dr. Brian Clark is the Executive Director of Ohio Musculoskeletal and Neurological Institute at Ohio University. He has published over 160 journal articles and chapters in outlets such as the Journal of Neurophysiology, Journal of Applied Physiology, Neurobiology of Aging, Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences, and Experimental Gerontology, and his work and expertise has been featured in several major media outlets.

This free program is part of our lifelong learning series, Empowered Minds. The focus of this signature service is healthy aging and enrichment for the retirement-age citizens of Licking County. All adults are welcome. Empowered Minds is supported by a sustaining gift from Robert Trimble Jr., a lifelong learner, and, in part, by Licking County Senior Levy. Donations are appreciated.
