Professor Elizabeth Dillenburg offers a thematic presentation on the “Culture of Empire,” focusing on how the British Empire historically shaped and continues to influence food, sports (like cricket and soccer), literature and art, and youth organizations such as Boy Scouts, as well as the legacies of the British Empire today.
Elizabeth Dillenburg is an assistant professor of history at The Ohio State University. She specializes in the history of modern Europe with a particular focus on the history of Britain and the British Empire and teaches courses on European and global history, gender history, the history of childhood and the history of colonialism. She is the author of Empire's daughters: Girlhood, whiteness, and the colonial project and numerous research articles.
