Licking County Library and the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Licking and Knox Counties invite artists who have been personally affected by mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety or other conditions, to submit artwork for a special exhibit. This joint exhibition seeks to elevate the voices of those with lived experience through creative expression, fostering understanding and reducing stigma in our community.

Submission Details:

  • Who can submit: Artists of all skill levels who have been impacted by mental health challenges or addiction.
  • Accepted media: All visual art forms, including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media and digital art
  • How to submit: Email photos of your artwork and information to Emily McConville at emcconville@mhrlk.org

Required Information:

  1. Title of the artwork
  2. Size & materials used: Please specify dimensions and medium
  3. Artist statement: Share your inspiration, personal connection to mental health or addiction and how it influenced your work (up to 250 words)

Important Dates:

  • Submission deadline: April 4, 2025
  • Notification of acceptance: April 18, 2025

Additional Information:

Selected works will be featured in a public exhibit during the month of May at Licking County Library. Details about exhibit dates, release forms and an opening reception will be shared upon acceptance.
